Cheap Juice
Terms of Use
Last updated: 14 August 2026 · Beta
The short version
Cheap Juice is an independent planning tool that makes public Agile electricity prices easier to understand. It is not an energy supplier, broker, financial adviser or appliance-control service. Electricity-price data can be delayed, incomplete, corrected or temporarily unavailable. Check important decisions against your tariff and information from your energy supplier.
These terms explain the conditions that apply when you use Cheap Juice. Read them alongside the Cheap Juice Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
Cheap Juice is provided by SideRight Apps ("we", "us" or "our"), an independent software publisher based in Scotland.
You can contact us at siderightapps@gmail.com.
2. Accepting these terms
By downloading, accessing or using Cheap Juice, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. Cheap Juice is a household energy-price utility and is not directed to children.
3. What Cheap Juice does
Cheap Juice displays public Octopus Energy Agile tariff information, including current and upcoming half-hourly unit rates. Depending on the version and features available, it may also:
- identify a grid-supply region from a postcode or manual selection;
- compare a rate with a date-valid Ofgem benchmark;
- show today's and tomorrow's published rates;
- identify continuous lower-price windows;
- retain recent public price data and preferences on your device; and
- provide local planning tools for appliances, thresholds, quiet hours or price history.
Available features may differ by platform, app version, region or release channel. Preview labels explain features that are not yet connected to purchases, alerts, widgets or other native services.
4. Independent service
Cheap Juice is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Octopus Energy Ltd or Ofgem. References to third-party names and services identify the sources or context of information and do not imply a partnership.
Cheap Juice does not manage your energy account, change your tariff, access your smart meter, control appliances or guarantee that an appliance will run at a particular time.
5. Price information and important limitations
Prices shown in Cheap Juice are informational. Unless clearly stated otherwise:
- rates are public tariff unit rates including VAT;
- standing charges and your electricity consumption are not included;
- an Ofgem figure is a general benchmark, not your personal tariff or bill;
- a cheapest window is calculated only from the rates available to the app at that time; and
- saved or cached prices may be older than the latest information from the source.
Public price feeds can be late, partial, duplicated, corrected or unavailable. Cheap Juice aims to label freshness, saved data, gaps and unavailable comparisons clearly. You remain responsible for checking your tariff, region, meter, appliance requirements and supplier information before acting.
Nothing in Cheap Juice is financial, investment, engineering, safety or professional energy advice. It does not promise or guarantee savings.
6. Your permission to use the app
We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use Cheap Juice for lawful personal or household purposes, subject to these terms and the rules of the app store from which you obtained it.
You must not:
- misuse the app or use it for unlawful purposes;
- interfere with its operation, security or other users;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to services or systems;
- copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app except where the law allows; or
- reverse engineer or circumvent technical protections except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it.
7. Third-party services
Cheap Juice relies on services supplied by others, including public Octopus Energy data services, app-store services and Expo update infrastructure. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices.
We are not responsible for operating third-party services and cannot guarantee their availability or the accuracy of information they supply. We will take reasonable care in how Cheap Juice requests, validates, stores and presents available data.
8. Availability and updates
We aim to keep Cheap Juice useful and available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, security work, third-party outages, connectivity or changes to public data may affect the app.
We may provide updates to fix problems, improve features, maintain compatibility or respond to legal or security requirements. Some updates may be required for the app to continue working safely or correctly. We will explain material changes where it is reasonable to do so.
9. Beta, preview and paid features
A beta or preview version may contain unfinished features and may change before general release. A preview does not imply that alerts, purchases, widgets, cloud services or appliance control are active.
If paid features are introduced, their price, main functionality, billing period and cancellation or refund information will be shown clearly before purchase. Purchases and refunds may also be governed by the relevant app store's terms. These terms do not reduce any rights you have under consumer law or app-store rules.
10. Intellectual property
Cheap Juice, its original software, design, text and branding are owned by or licensed to SideRight Apps. Third-party names, data, software and other materials remain the property of their respective owners and may be subject to separate licences.
These terms do not transfer ownership of the app or its content to you.
11. Privacy
The Cheap Juice Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses, what is stored on your device, which external services receive requests and the choices available to you.
12. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility where doing so would be unlawful. This includes responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and your statutory consumer rights.
If we breach these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of that breach or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, business losses arising from personal use of the app, or failures caused by third-party services or events outside our reasonable control.
Cheap Juice is provided for personal and household use. If you use it for a business purpose, you do so outside its intended use.
13. Ending use or restricting access
You can stop using Cheap Juice at any time and remove locally stored app information by deleting the app or clearing its data.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, abuse, a serious security risk or material breach of these terms. Where practical, we will give reasonable notice and explain what you can do. Urgent action may be required without advance notice to protect users, data or services.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to Cheap Juice, third-party services, law, security requirements or our business. Updated terms will show a new date and will be made available before they apply. We will make material changes reasonably prominent and, where required, ask you to accept them.
Changes will not remove rights you already have under applicable consumer law.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Scots law. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections provided by the law where you live and may bring proceedings in any court available to you under applicable law.
Please contact us first at siderightapps@gmail.com so we can try to resolve a concern informally. Nothing in this section limits your right to use another complaint or dispute process available under law or applicable app-store rules.
